Dried Roses Wreath
I recently attended a wedding and brought a lot of the roses home. I want to make a rose wreath with the roses and surprise the bride. Tips for keeping the color? I am planning on drying them upside down in a dark closet to keep the shape and then spray them with hairspray to keep them firm so they won't get powdery. Anyone got any ideas on how to put this together so it looks nice? Maybe a picture of something they've seen. Or a good website I can get some ideas from? Thanks in advance.

Cover Image With Cheesecloth for an Oil Painting Look
For inexpensive artwork that looks like an oil painting, you can use a picture from an old calendar (or similar paper stock) by gluing it to poster board or cardboard and then lay a piece of cheese cloth over the picture. Next step is to brush on a thin coat of shellac over the cheese cloth.

Trouble Crocheting Nylon Netting Scrubbies
When I try to crochet a pot scrubber with nylon netting it comes out with a totally frayed look from the cut edges. The stitches are not distinct so it is difficult to find the hole for the next stitch. I am looking at a scrubber that I purchased and the stitches are very obvious and it has a very neat look. What am I not doing wrong?

Chilean design studio Onceneto teamed up with La Tercera newspaper and has been doing an interesting job recovering waste material from the paper's print process. The first is produced with cardboard tubes from the newspaper printer paper rolls, connected with a steel support. The second were made with rubber that acts as ink transmitter in the print process, a hard to recycle material that before the design studio intervention went to waste.
