Gift & Craft Ideas -
Gift Tag Sayings
|
|
Cute gift tag sayings can top off a special gift nicely. I've collected funny sayings, cute ones, motivational ones...all kinds of them! And better yet, I've included some gift ideas to get those creative juices flowing! The great thing about some of these gift tag sayings is that most of them can be used for any occasion OR, with the change of a word--you can use them for any occasion. Let your imagination go! The key to it all, is to know what your recipient likes, what their hobbies are, or whether they have some very specific interests. For example, are they a coffee or tea lover? Does he or she enjoy crafts? Do they have kids or pets? Are they an active animal activist, Red Cross member or a military serviceperson? Is the gift for a close friend or a neighbor? Or is it for your mailman or child's teacher? Is it for a co-worker or your church Pastor or Priest? Think about those things for a moment and something will present itself as being the most likely gift tag saying for them. Take a look at the gift tags in the picture above. The most fun way to do this is to get some blank cards & decorate them yourself. Use stickers, decals, rubber stamps, gel pens, glitter pens, paint pens. Whatever your crafty heart desires! Not crafty? Get some pretty stickers & a gel pen---now you are! AND BY THE WAY...you can get those White Enclosure Cards right here at The Boutique Shop. Check out the Cello In A Box section--Lots of great cellophane gift bags & all the accessories are right there for ya! The cards are under Ribbons, Bows & More. Here's a list of gift tag sayings to whet your creative appetite! | A true friend is there when you blossom...and there when you wilt. | Gift Suggestion: Cellophane gift bag with flower seeds. Vase with cut flowers from your garden. Gift basket with gardening gifts like gloves, small hand tools, hand cream. | | A teacher can't live by apples alone...she needs "kisses" too! | Gift suggestion: Fill a cellophane gift bag with Hershey's Kisses & tie with curling ribbon. Attach the gift tag & you're done! You could even hide a gift certificate in the middle of all the candy! You can change Kisses to Hugs & use the Hershey's Hugs instead, OR...USE BOTH! LOL. | | Hands down, our grandma is the best! | Gift suggestion: Either have the Grandkids dip their hands in acrylic paints & "stamp" their handprints on a t-shirt or tote bag or apron, OR cut out their handprints in fabric & iron them on, then outline them in puffy paints. Write each child's name under their handprint. | | You make friendship bloom all year round. Merry Christmas | Gift suggestion: For Christmas, attach to a pointsetia plant. Year round, attach the gift tag to any pretty flowering plant (uh, and don't say Merry Christmas! *giggle*). You could also change "friendship" to "love." | | A friend always knows when you need a "hug." | Gift suggestion: Fill a bag, jar or mug with Hershey Hugs!! | | Hope your holiday is Sweet. Merry Christmas! | Gift suggestion: Cellophane gift bag with storebought or homemade candy. You can change the word "holiday" to "birthday" or "day" or "Mother's Day" or "Valentine's Day." | | Have a "berry" nice Holiday Season! | Gift suggestion: Jar of jam, Strawberry Cheesecake mix or flavored berry syrups and pancake or waffle mix. You can change the words "Holiday Season" as needed! | | May your Holidays "bubble over" with fun! Merry Christmas | Gift suggestion: Bubble bath or bath crystals with any bath accessory--like a loufa, a bath poof or a bath brush, and a candle. Put them all in a pastel colored cellophane gift bag & attach the tag with some curling ribbon. You can change the word "Holidays" to "Birthday," "Mother's Day," or "Valentine's Day." | | Hope your Christmas is "Scent" sational | Gift suggestion: Bag of potpourri, a scented candle, scented soaps, creams, lotions or perfumes. Or all of them! LOL You can change the word "Christmas" to "Birthday," or any other occasion. This would look lovely in a pretty basket with some shred & each item in its own cellophane gift bag. Gift in a Jiffy! | | Wishing you a "Souper" Holiday Season | Gift suggestion: Soup makings or mix with crackers in mug or soup bowl. This would look great in a basket! Don't forget the cellophane gift bag! You can change "Holiday Season" to "Recovery" for a friend that's under the weather. | | You're getting 'muffin' for Christmas | Gift suggestion: Muffins or flavored muffin mix. You could include a muffin pan and/or a jam, jelly or preserve. | | Here's a little "dough" for Christmas! | Gift suggestion: A roll or tub of cookie dough and cookie cutters. Too cute! You can change it from Christmas to Birthday. | | For being there when you were "kneaded" | Gift suggestion: For an appreciation gift. A loaf of fresh home made bread, or a basket of bread mixes. | | "You Light Up My Life!" | Gift suggestion: Vanilla, lavender or rose scented candles, with matching scented bath items like bubble bath, bath salts and body lotions with some gourmet tea bags. Put everything in a basket with some shred or tissue and place in a cellophane gift bag. Tie with curling ribbon & finish with the gift tag. Voila! A special gift for your special loved one! | | "You Make My Heart Sing" | Gift suggestion: Music CD of your loved one's favorite artist, some candles, and a bottle of their favorite wine. Place the wine bottle in one of my cellophane wine bottle gift bags & tie with curling ribbon, wrap & tape the CD to the front of the wrapped bottle and drape the curling ribbon over it. Finish with your gift tag & Ta-dah! A romantic gift for your loved one! | | "We've shared a coffee (or tea) and a chat, As friends so often do, So when you brew this single cup, Imagine I am there with you!" | Gift suggestion: Place some single serve flavored coffee or tea packets in a pretty mug and wrap in a cellophane gift bag, with some opalescent shred in the bottom of it. Tie with curling ribbon and attach this gift tag for your best friend! | |

Making Your Own Colored Elastic
Hi, I am making a necklace out of wooden beads that are light in color but have a wooden tone to them. How would I color the elastic I am using? I do not want white or black elastic to show so would prefer a brown or tannish color. Thought of using tea but did not know if the acid in the tea would effect the elastic. Afraid that marking pens might rub off on the wearer. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Alice writes:
Well I was invited to prom yet again this year and felt like doing something a little out of the box. Anyways seeing as I'm also trying to build a portfolio, I figured why not. And so many cavities and sugar highs later it was complete. Really I automatically...
